For a Harvard educated president who prides himself on being well spoken, Barack Obama surely does promote vulgar and unimaginative language.
Yesterday’s F-bomb by VP Joe Biden is the latest in Camp Obama’s continuing attack on the spoken word.
President Obama isn’t afraid of cursing. He’s done it himself, calling Kanye West a jackass last year.
Last year, a microphone picked up Biden at a public event in Union Station saying, “Give me a fucking break.”
Obama even made a pretty good joke last year when referring to Emanuel’s notorious potty mouth: “For Rahm, every day is a swearing-in ceremony,” the president said with a smile, which was another way of giving Emanuel the green light to keep on cursing.
But there’s a problem with allowing profanity to prosper in your circle. The cursing becomes part of everyone’s everyday vocabulary. Then you start dropping F-bombs by accident.
You’ll be standing in church talking to the elderly pianist and you’ll say something like, “That was a fucking great version of ‘Just A Closer Walk With Thee.’”
Or you’ll say it into a live microphone for the whole world to hear.
