PETA members and cabbage heads, avert your eyes: Sunday afternoon (Apr 17) 4-7pm, Texas Toast Culinary Tours will present an “Urban Chuck Wagon Pig-Pickin’” food party at Rahr & Sons Brewery, 704 Galveston Ave, FW.
Does this mean we’ll finally get the chance to see a huge pig with an apple in its mouth outside of a cartoon? Sorta, although I’m not sure outlaw chef Terry Chandler – who’s roasting the pig for the event — will include the apple. He’s also cooking up fire-roasted pineapple chipotle salsa, borracho beans, green chile hominy, and Dutch oven cherry cobbler. Hankshaw and Fish Fry Bingo will provide live music. Tickets are $40 for adults; kids under 12 eat free. A percentage of each ticket sold will go to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County.
