I can’t think of another Texas city that has used a horrible event like the summer 2009 Rainbow Lounge raid to accomplish so much good for its lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender citizens. And now comes a historic Fort Worth event: Fairness Fort Worth, the organization formed in the wake of the Rainbow raid, and the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting the city’s first mayoral election forum targeted to the community. Candidates Jim Lane and Betsy Price will participate. The event will be moderated by veteran Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy and Tammye Nash, senior editor of the Dallas Voice and a Fort Worth resident. The forum happens 5:30pm Wed June 1 at the Four Day Weekend theater, 312 Houston St, FW.
