Historic Fort Worth presents its ninth annual art show and sale called Preservation is the Art of the City at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center (1300 Gendy St & Lancaster Ave) Sept 8-24. The show features a head-spinning collection of local and regional visual artists – 55 in all — who’ll benefit from the sale of their work. It also supports the preservation projects of Historic Fort Worth.

2011’s featured artist is Nancy Lamb. Opening reception for the show is 6:30-9:30pm Thu (Sept 8). That event is a fundraiser – tix are $100 – but you get to mix with many of the artists and, well, with other people who can afford to pay $100 to go to an opening reception. After that, the show will be on display for free through Sept 24.
