"THE BEAN" BY LAUREN CHILDS.

Spring Gallery Night has a new addition to the ever-growing lineup of galleries, museums, retail businesses, restaurants, and other venues displaying art works for sale.

The Fort Works Art gallery event is an art scene combined with a rock ‘n roll party on Saturday at Shipping & Receiving, 205 S. Calhoun St.

From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., 20 artists will have a large sampling of works for sale. A 10% commission will be charged on all art sold. Proceeds go to The Warm Place, which provides grief support services to children and young adults who have experienced the death of an immediate family member.

Three kick-ass rock bands – The Cush, Holy Moly, and Calhoun — will perform beginning at 8 p.m.

The art show includes works by John Holt Smith, Lauren Childs, Clay Stinnett, Grigor Aleksi, and many others.

The exhibition, curated by Childs, brings both “internationally acclaimed artists and emerging artists into a raw space, creating an explosion of art and music.”

Admission is free, and valet parking is available.
