Colleen Ventimiglia, a senior at Fossil Ridge High School, was among the many students to enter Christmas ornaments in a local contest hosted by Texas Rep. Matt Krause. Colleen’s ornament won the top prize and now hangs on a 23-foot tall Christmas tree in the House of Representatives in Austin. I read about Colleen’s ornament in an article penned by Rich Mauch for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and figured she’d make an ideal guest for a Christmas-themed T&J. She was nervous about singing — she only sings at church — but was game to tackle a carol. She chose “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” since Ol’ Saint Nick and his reindeer are just a week out of town. Thanks for being a trooper and helping us channel the Christmas spirit, Colleen! — Jeff Prince
