Though I often don’t like the war, I respect the soldier. To all of you who have fought for our flag, to all of you who faced impossible challenges and fear and rose above them to find your courage, to all of you who suffered and died and to all of your families, I salute you.

I also hope and pray that one day soon we as a world will move past the need to resolve our disputes in brutal wars. Let’s strive for a permanent peace, but also take a moment of silence for all those fallen brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers who have come before us as well as those in the services now.

Safe home. Godspeed.
