Wed 4 – When Rutger Hauer’s Roy Batty delivers his famous soliloquy near the end of Blade Runner, he references Wagner’s Tannhäuser, implicitly comparing himself to the hero who falls out of grace with men and God because he found the exalted land. You can see who he meant and listen to some great music tonight at 6:30pm at various movie theaters; check Calendar for showtimes. Tickets are $16-24. Call 818-761-6100.

Fri 6 – The end of yet another NASCAR season approaches, so head to Texas Motor Speedway for the return of racing weekend. Sun 8 – In his own abbreviated lifetime, Gustave Caillebotte was primarily known as a rich art collector and hobbyist rather than as an artist in his own right. This week, the Kimbell gives a solo exhibition to this well-known but still overlooked painter with Gustave Caillebotte: The Painter’s Eye. The show runs today thru Feb 14 at 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd, FW. Tickets are $10-14. Call 817-332-8451.

Mon 9 – It’s an odd fact that most of the great requiem masses in classical music history were written by composers who had no particular religious feeling in their own lives. One of these was the 19th-century Frenchman Gabriel Fauré, whose consolatory Requiem in D minor (with its soaring “Pie Jesu”) will be played tonight at 7:30pm at St. Mark’s Church, 2024 S Collins St, Arlington. Admission is free. Call 817-277-6871.

Tues 10- Tracy Morgan once joked on Saturday Night Live that if FUBU stood for “For Us By Us,” then Tommy Hilfiger should be called FUBRAWD (“For Us By a Rich-Ass White Dude”). FUBU founder and Shark Tank cast member Daymond John comes to UTA to discuss his career as a creator of apparel for the urban market tonight at 7:30pm at College Park Center, 600 S Center St, Arlington.
