As a child growing up in southeastern Texas, Annie Robinson accompanied her mother doing missionary work in poor neighborhoods. They gave food to the hungry, shoes to the barefooted, and blankets to the cold. After Annie grew up, she moved to Fort Worth and continued following her mother’s example, becoming a tireless helper of the homeless. Annie, a retired teacher and school counselor, has been compiling and distributing food, clothing, toiletries, blankets, and other helpful items for decades. Now 91, she remains an energetic force. Folks such as Annie make this big round ball of ours worth inhabiting. To quote Paul Simon: “Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson. Jesus loves you more than you will know.” — Jeff Prince
