Texas Ballet Theater Protests

Posted September 14, 2009 by Anthony Mariani in Blotch

Members of North Texas’ professional musicians union plan on protesting Texas Ballet Theater’s performances at Bass Performance Hall on the weekend of October 2nd. To make up for budget shortfalls several months ago, TBT began using canned or pre-recorded music in lieu of live music (by the Fort Worth Symphony here and by the Dallas Opera Orchestra in Dallas). The union members plan on distributing informational leaflets and marching outside the hall before, during, and after the performances.
