SANTOS FRANCISCO SANCHEZ

Fort Worth Man On Most Wanted List
Ever seen this dull-eyed sidewinder? If so, you could be $10,000 richer. The state is offering a reward for a tip that leads to the capture of Santos Francisco Sanchez, 47. The former Fort Worth resident and Texas Syndicate gang member is on the state’s 10 most wanted list. He’s been on the lam since 2003 after failing to register as a sex offender, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. He’s 5-feet-10, and his tats include dragons, devils, skulls, and (lest he be considered a one-trick pony) hearts and roses too!

Ebola Survivor, Author To Sign Books
Kent Brantly contracted Ebola while working as a missionary in Liberia last year, and he and his wife Amber wrote a book about their fight with the deadly virus. Called for Life: How Loving Our Neighbor Led Us into the Heart of the Ebola Epidemic gives the couple’s behind-the-scenes account of working in a war-torn country while confronting an unexpected and epic health disaster. The couple is signing copies of their book at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Southside Church of Christ,. 2101 Hemphill St. in Fort Worth.

The Ebola Fight Goes On
Speaking of deadly viruses, researchers at Mount St. Mary’s University are optimistic about a new weapon in the fight against Ebola. A vaccine developed in Canada was tested in Guinea, with no cases of the viral disease found in the more than 2,000 people who were vaccinated after being identified as at-risk. A comparison group with the same number of people showed 16 cases of Ebola. “I know I should be cautiously optimistic, but I’m truly so excited by this study,” said Kathryn E. Gunn-Dye, Ph.D., Mount St. Mary’s University assistant professor of biology. “The burden shouldered by these researchers in moving forward this testing, the first of its kind, is awe-inspiring. They are giving hope to people who live in fear.”
