AND THE CROWD GOES WILD

Arlington’s arsenal of tourist attractions includes Six Flags over Texas, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers, and so a tourism slogan of “The Crowd Goes Wild” makes good sense.

Crowds literally go wild in Arlington. (I grew up there and went wild many times, so I like to think I had a little something to do with the slogan).

But that perfectly fine slogan doesn’t impress the good folks at Advertising Age, which included it on its “Worst of Tourism Marketing” list.

Arlingtonites can take comfort: Many of the other cities on the list were much worse. For instance, Lodi, California’s slogan is “Liveable, Loveable Lodi,” which isn’t that great but at least it’s better than “Oh Lord, Stuck In Lodi Again.”
