Ironically, if folks could ever use the Loving Kindness Tour of Buddhist relics opening 6-8pm tonight (Fri Nov 29) at the Unity Church of Fort Worth (5051 Trail Lake Dr, FW), it’s in our current season of “peace and goodwill to all.” The hectic schedule of shopping, office parties, and get-togethers with family and friends often leaves us feeling like we’re on a roller coaster ride that doesn’t end until around January 2, 2014. The international Loving Kindness Tour features bowls, sculptures, statuary, stones, and other items belonging to the great Buddhist masters of eras past.

The point of the show –– which closes at the Unity Church on Sun Dec 1 –– is not to assert one religion’s god over another. Believers, non-believers, and in-betweens of every stripe are welcome. It’s to remind viewers that a core of peace and compassion exists naturally in all human beings, and that, as the Dalai Lama puts it, “world peace can only be achieved through inner peace.”
