We don’t know about you, but we’d really rather not drink a cold, gloppy eggnog when the temperature outside is hovering above freezing. This publication ran an article last week about the best drinks being served up by restaurants during the cold months (“Fort Worth’s Most Festive Cocktails”). However, if you’d like to mix your own drinks tailored to your own palette, the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival has you covered this week with Making Spirits Bright, a holiday cocktail workshop that promises to take you beyond mulled wine.

Kirk Popovici of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and David Jennings of B&B Butchers & Restaurant will be on hand to tell you all sorts of things about the fruity, sweet flavors of cordials and liqueurs. Maybe you want a drink with whiskey to counteract the winter’s chill, or perhaps peppermint is the flavor of the season for you. Whichever it is, be advised that space is limited at this workshop, so reserve your seat here before the event leaves you out in the cold.

Making Spirits Bright runs 6:30-7:30pm at Classic Wine Storage, 2915 Riverglen Dr, FW. Tickets are $30. Call 325-203-2184.
